The sun hit the horizon and turned dark,
And my soul screamed into the night,
Piercing, shattering, dying in my chest.
Losing grip of all that was left.
Faces froze around me and time slowed,
All at once I was everywhere and nowhere,
Everything and yet I was nothing.
A ghost of a girl once known to the world.
The more they tried to help, the worse it got,
Blood dripped, friendships broke, fear grew,
Lonely isolation in a crowd of love.
Unable to be reached or helped.
Then a butterfly landed on my shoulder,
Whispered me promises of possibilities,
And on my wrist I drew that butterfly.
A small ink saviour of mine.
