To Criss, a Warrior tried and true...

I give to you my heart, though we will never meet

We are kindred souls who pass along the street

I see you, you see me, as we pass along the street

Because we look away we shall never meet.

It's a shame and it's a pity in this great land of ours

That people use their powers to harm instead of heal

People who should know better have no mercy in their souls

They are pretty selfish their life is in denial.

They think that it demeans them to do what they are told

That they have crushed the lives that were now theirs to hold

They should not have to do the job they're paid to do

I do not understand this selfish attitude.

My purpose in my life I should now say unto you

Is to make a person smile

Each and every day.

Your burden I would lift, if it were mine to do

Criss you are a warrior so strong so tried and true.

Because I am unknown this is what I'll do

I do not know love

Not now or evermore.

I give it all to you

To even up the score.

Criss you are a warrior so strong so tried and true.

As the poem states, I do not know you and you do not know me, but we could be two people who pass and never meet. I honestly do not know why I had to write this letter, I just know that I had to. I can not understand why people think it demeans them to do what they get paid to do when there are so many of us that who would gladly do what is right for even half the pay. The pay is not what is important, it only gives us a place to eat and sleep. It is that there are so many of us that DO believe in our fellow man but due to circumstances beyond our control we are not the ones placed to help those who need our help. I write this letter to you in the hope that I can get you to really understand how you and your story affect those of us that have read it and were touched by it. You deserve so much more than you are getting, and those of us that are “in your corner” really and truly want you to know that even though there is a lot we cannot understand we can in the end stand by your side, and support you the best we are able. What was done to you was most unkind, and unfair. It should not be tolerated but it is a well known fact that all governments and institutions everywhere at every level discriminate on the basis of socioeconomic level. I myself have had ( as we all have I am sure) been sent to a professional only to have the door slammed in my face when they found out I was unable to pay. I have always been a stranger everywhere I went, and acquired the nickname as a result. I have always been on the outside looking in. Reading your story is the first time I have ever been “on the inside sitting across the table in the local coffee house.”

“It is both an honor and a pleasure to have gotten to meet you Warrior tried and true.....”

Signed,

Stranger in the corner 10-8-2013
