The tenseness that had been in my shoulders left. And at that moment looking at Chris standing there, in most likely what his best clothing, his messy hair slightly wet, with ruined roses he bought for me: a desperate look in his eyes; I couldn't say no to him.

Written In The Stars: Homecoming PART TWO

For a second I just stood there.

" I don't know Chris..." I said breathing in deeply, my nose slightly stuffy. His eyes were slightly hopeful as he stood there.

" Well... I got you these." He said bring his hands out from behind his back. In them was a bouquet of rose's, that were crushed slightly, torn a bit, and wet.

" But i kind of dropped them in the street coming out of the store. and I didn't have any money to get any more..."

The tenseness that had been in my shoulders left. And at that moment looking at Chris standing there, in most likely what his best clothing, his messy hair slightly wet, with ruined roses he bought for me: a desperate look in his eyes; I couldn't say no to him.

" Okay I'll go with you." I said, taking the ruined flowers from his hands and moving aside to let him in. I set the flowers on the coffee table, and walked into the bathroom. Sighing as I looked at myself, washing off the make up, putting some more on. Fixing my hair slightly. But even after that I thought I looked like I just fell into a tree. Walking back out I sat down and sighed as I put my shoes back on.

" How did you get here?" I asked as we closed my front door.

" My mom. I know lame right?" He said sighing with his hands in his pocket, as his moms car pulled up into my driveway.

" Its alright." I said, trying to smile slightly as we sat down in the backseats. As the car began to move down the street, it was awkwardly silent.

" You look really beautiful..." He said after moment. I nodded looking down.

" I'm sorry about Caleb." Chris said looking at me, his eyes soft.

" Its alright. So you were going to go to homecoming alone?" I asked him.

He ran a hand through his hair and looked out the window.

" Ahh.. I wasn't going to go. I used some of the money I saved to get my new bike to get a ticket"  He said looking back over at me.

" Chris. You shouldn't have. I know how much you want that bike."

He smiled.

"  Well, theres something else I want more..." He said as we pulled into the parking lot of the highschool. I blushed slightly.

When we pulled into the dance entrance, he got out and walked to my side of the car. I got out when he opened the door for me. He said goodbye to his mom, and we started to walk up the sideway to the double doors.

Walking in, the lights were dim, I could hear a song playing in the gym. People walking around the lunchroom, some people sitting at tables, eating chips or icecream. Some people standing in the line for photobooth.

"What do you want to do?" Chris asked. I looked around for Delanie, but figured she was already in the gym with Bradly.

I just pointed for the door to the gym, and Chris nodded, and i felt his hand beside mine, then felt his fingers intertwine with mine, as we started walking into the gym. We walked about ten feet away from the bleachers as a slow song came on.

" Want to dance?" He asked, I nodded and hesitantly, wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

After a moment, my head was on his shoulder. he looked down into my eyes, and I finally realized. This moment was perfect. I was dancing at homecoming with a guy who cared about me. And the guy who broke my heart not even an hour before was no where to be seen.

I lifted my head off his shoulder. Looking into Chris's large green eyes, the moment seemed to grow even more perfect. I felt my eyes close, and his face get closer to mine. For a breif moment as his lips pressed against mine, it seemed as if no one else was in the room...

Three Hours Later.

Chris's mom sat in the drive way waiting for Chris as he stood in my living room. I was in the bathroom changing into sweat pants, and a tank top washing the make up off my face. Chris had not wanted to leave until he knew I was perfectly fine.

I walked back out into the living room.

" You can leave now" I smiled. He smiled back as I sat down on the couch.

" Maybe I can stay the night?" He asked.

" I don't know how my parents would feel about that." I said as he sat down next to me.

" Why don't we find out? Unless you don't want me to?" He said his eyes showed that he would do what ever I wanted. Even if I didnt want him to stay.

" Sure why not?" I said, and he pulled his phone out most likely texting his mom.

Chris was now in shorts and a shirt his mom brought for him to change into after the dance.

He leaned back against the couch.

" Come here." He said and laid my head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arms aorund me. Thinking about how amazing the night had been. The last thing I felt before falling alseep his lips on my forehead. And for a second, I was sure, the night had been written in the stars after all....

END.
