It was pinochle night at Tom and Mary’s house. John and Sue arrived right on time. The foursome had been playing ever since the men retired almost a decade ago. They were all in their seventies now and in pretty good shape for their age. It was two weeks before Christmas and Tom was mixing rum and eggnog for everyone in the kitchen. The card table was set up in the den where the gas log fireplace was burning. Big snowflakes drifted by the bay window that looked out into their wooded lot. It was going to be the men against the women tonight. Mary and Sue seated themselves across from each other. Tom brought the drinks in two at a time and sat down after the second trip.
“Are you ladies ready for a licking?” Tom said taking the cards out of the box.
“Do your best,” Sue replied wryly.
Tom dealt the cards three at a time as was customary for them. When he went to deal the last three cards to himself, there was only one card left.
“Count your cards,” he told the other players thinking that perhaps someone had too many because some cards stuck together. They all answered twelve and Tom only had ten. Tom picked up the now empty card box and checked it again. It was empty.
“Do we have any more cards in the house?” Tom said looking at his wife Mary.
“No honey, we were going to pick up a spare deck sometime, but that sometime never came.”
“We could drive to town and buy a deck or we could drive home and get a deck from our house.” John suggested.
Just then they heard the bay window rattle from a strong gust of wind. They all looked; the large snowflakes were whipping past the window sideways.
“It looks like it is getting ugly out there,” Tom said with a frown.
“Let’s just do something else,” Mary suggested.
“What did you have in mind?” Sue asked.
“How about Truth or Dare?” Mary said to be funny.
“What’s that?” John asked.
“I’ll play!” Sue said giggling.
“You mean that kids game?” Tom said with a look of disproval.
“Yeah, are you afraid to play?” Mary said in a taunting way.
“What is Truth or Dare?” John asked again.
Sue explained the rules:
“One player starts the game by asking another to choose "Truth or Dare?" If the player chooses "truth", then the first player poses a question, usually an embarrassing one, which the second player must answer truthfully. If the player instead chooses "dare", then the first player sets them a task, often an embarrassing or dangerous one, which player two must perform. After answering the question or performing the dare, that player asks "Truth or Dare?" of another player, and the game continues. A player cannot choose truth more than twice in a row, and dares cannot be repeated. “
“Hmmm, I don’t know,” John said cautiously. “I think we are too old to play that.”
“I am not too old, count me in.” Tom said taking another sip of his rum-eggnog.
“Who goes first?” John asked giving in to the majority.
“Let’s draw a card, high card goes first and we will just ask clockwise like when playing cards.” Mary suggested.
They all agreed to those rules instead of letting the person who was asked; go next.
They drew cards and Tom got the high card.
Tom thought for a minute and said, “Truth or Dare Sue?”
Sue answered, “Truth.”
Tom asked her, “Did you ever think about having sex with me?”
Tom was smiling at his question. Mary was smirking to herself. John was in shock. Sue blushed.
“Come on Sue, you said truth.” Mary reminded her.
“Yes Tom, I have fantasized about having sex with you. You are a sexy man like John and I am only human.” Sue admitted.
It was Mary’s turn next, “John, Truth or Dare?”
John thought Mary might ask him the same question. He wanted to avoid answering it, since he thought about having Mary in his bed sometimes when Sue and he were having sex. It helped him get excited on the nights when his sex drive was down a bit.
“Dare,” John said.
“Then drop your drawers and moon everyone at the table.” Mary said smiling.
John stood up and turned his backside to the table and pulled his pants and underpants down to his knees and wiggled his ass for a few seconds. Then he pulled them up returning to his chair and watched everyone laugh like crazy. John really didn’t care, he was not embarrassed.
John was next and eyed up both Tom and Mary.
“Mary, what will it be; Truth or Dare?” John finally asked.
“Truth,” Mary responded.
“Have you ever been sexually intimate, with another woman?”
The other three people all had shocked looks on their faces when John asked the question.
Tom and Sue stared at Mary, waiting to hear what she had to say.
Mary’s eyes darted from person to person and she looked nervous.
“Yes, I tried it once.” Mary said looking around the room at the others. “For a week; when I was in college,” She added grinning from ear to ear.
Everybody roared with laughter.
“I am making another round of drinks if anyone wants one?” Tom asked.
They all said yes and Tom made the drinks while the others commented on the blizzard that was whipping up outside.
Tom delivered the drinks and sat down. “You’re next Sue,” he said nodding to her.
“I want to ask you Tom, Truth or Dare?”
Tom bravely said dare.
“Kiss me on the mouth and slip me the tongue.” Sue said with a grin.
“Oh, I am really beginning to like this game.” Tom commented.
“Make it a good one honey, she asked for it!” Mary said before taking another sip of eggnog.
“Sue might not give your tongue back to you Tom.” John said grinning and looking at Mary.
Tom and Sue swapped tongues for about thirty seconds and made humming noises the last half of the time.
The game had made it once around the table and was back to Tom.
“Truth or Dare?” Tom asked his wife Mary.
“Truth,” Mary responded.
“Have you ever faked an orgasm?”
“We have been married forty-five years honey, of course I have. Your good, but nobody hits a home run all the time.”
Mary grinned at John. “I’m next.”
“What will it be, Truth or Dare John?”
“Truth,” what do you want to know sweetheart?”
“Tell me, what part of me turns you on the most, and why.”
John looked at Tom and his wife Sue. He was nervous about being honest.
“Actually it is your lips. They look so soft and plump, I can imagine them giving me sweet butterfly kisses all over my body."
The game and the blizzard and the rum-eggnogs raged on into the night. John and Sue ended up spending the night.
There was a bit of hanky-panky going on after the lights went out. The who, and the what, I leave up to your imagination.
