I love this poem, if I may say so. It is probably my favourite of all I have done, which is why it shall be my first submission to Booksie. I hope you enjoy it. Please be as harsh as you like with your critique, it helps me to learn and improve. Thank you very much.

A fine young man stood alone and free

Hidden by the shadow of an old oak tree

The sky was dark and the fog was dense

From the boy’s lonesome thoughts he was brought to sense

A snap of a twig the young man heard

At first he thought it a squirrel or bird

But he swung round to a quite different view

A silhouette of whom not he knew

The stranger was a girl his age about

She was beautiful without a doubt

As he approached her he made not a sound

It was true that he she did astound

Though past midnight they gaily did dance

Both deeply by love entranced

The air was alive with swirling mist

And under the moonlight they tenderly kissed

Years went by and their love grew

And that love would remain for a lifetime they knew

Memories they treasured of that magical night

Where love was born at first sight
