The Soldier’s Promise
Freedom has its cost, but can you pay the price?
Freedom has its joys, but can you handle the rights?
Freedom has its hope, but can you handle the fight?
Freedom has its dark, but can you handle the night?

A soldier says, “Yes I can.”
A soldier says, “I will fight even if you don’t give a damn.”
A soldier says, “I can handle this, for I am a man.”
A soldier says, “I will always make my stand.”

Freedom is an honor, but can you bear the droning?
Freedom is a privilege, but can you bear looks so stony?
Freedom is a right, but can you bear those who are phony?
Freedom is a way of life, but can you bear to be lonely?

A soldier says, “I can take it”
A soldier says, “I will never quit.”
A soldier says, “I see light in the darkest pit.”
A soldier says, “I will go home again.”

Freedom is never free, but can you pay the price?
Freedom is never without hope, but can you handle the fight?
Freedom is never without some darkness, but can you bear the light?

A soldier says, “Yes I can.”
A soldier says, “I will fight even if you don’t give a damn.”
A soldier says, “I can handle this, for I am a man.”
A soldier says, “I will always make my stand.”
A soldier says, “I can take it”
A soldier says, “I will never quit.”
A soldier says, “I see light in the darkest pit.”
A soldier says, “I will go home again.”
