I am so tired, I never imagined for a moment it would be this way.

Years drag on and life skips away, day after lonely day.

I am so tired.

I can hear myself breathing; I can feel my heart beating.

It’s quiet outside, my thoughts the only other sound in my head.

Oh God, I am so tired.

Sunshine through the window reflects upon the gold on my finger,

happy memories engulf me with pain.  No one is here now,

even you are gone.  My rock; my lifelong friend.

There are children’s voices on the street outside.  I had been

a mother once… they don’t need me now.

They take care of me, although…

Oh well, I feel they have done what they thought was right.

It’s not home here, but I am comfortable

But I feel so tired.

I wish I had my friends, I wish I could help out at home with

the grandkids, I wish for too many things that can never be now.

Most of all love, I wish for you.

But you’ll be there in the end I know.

 I am so tired.
