On October 8, 2008 I heard the news report in the morning and was saddened by the deaths in Iraq, but as I began to research material on the internet, I was just as saddened by the way that women are killed for not being dressed appropriately. 40 to 50 women killed since January 2008 brought the inspiration for this song.

Dressed To Kill

by Susan H Fouts

She walked the street
Dressed to kill
Where were her thoughts
Before she approached the crowd?
Modest in dress
Her smile was sweet.
Traditional clothing hid her death,
Yet not only hers but others too.
Did she prove her point?
Or accomplish her legacy?
Did she have children and are they crying?
Did she have a husband and is he crying?
Many are weeping
Many are crying
She blew them up
And families they had.
So if you see her walk the street
Beware of death
That is concealed
Run for your life
If you want to live.
Don't let your life be cut short.

Her name is suicide bomber
