*scrubs hands over face* Oh this sucks! I never have this kind of remorse when I complete a novel, its killing me! Like I honestly want to fucking cry. (And yes, I know, you just did too, but believe me, my ass was bawling my eyes out writing it. And I was at work...that was really cute)
Does that mean I'm going to hop right into the next Anya novel? No, I'm not ready for that yet. Besides like you just read a dozen times I have other stories I need to get out of my head. I know you love Anya and you want to hear more, but I need to put her aside for little while, I'm obviously getting too lost in her if I'm feeling like this.
So what's coming next? Um...that depends...
I've been toying with the idea of hosting a challenge, but I don't want to do it the way everybody else is (forgive me if you are one of these people who thought of this before but I don't enter contests so I wouldn't know). I don't want it to just be me deciding who wins, I want to do it as a panel.
See this is the question I pose to you...
Yay or nay me if you'd be willing to join me on a judging panel, I'm looking to do this with three to five people. Once I know who's willing and who's not then I'll contact you (that sounds so official lol) and we'll have to exchange emails to do this right. You'd end up being listed as one of the judges on the posting for the challenge but I'll keep you opinions anonymous though the discussion process. I'll give you numbers Like Judge One or Judge Two (no I might not necessarily make myself judge one). There's two reasons why I want to do it this way. One, I'm just one person who likes specific things. If I judge a contest we all know what kind of story I would lean towards, I wanted to make this more unbiased. The second is because it wouldn't be fair to some of my fans who would want to enter. I already read your stuff, I"m already a fan, what good is it going to do you if you win?
What exactly would this require of you should you decide to become a judge and what the hell kind of challenge is this going to be you ask?
A story challenge, anything from a short story to ten Booksie chapters long but must have a beginning middle and end (Come on, I suck at short stories, you really think I'm going to host a challenge with that short of a word limit?)
There will be only ten entries allowed because of the length alloted so it shouldn't be a massive amount of reading.
There will be a one month deadline from when I post the challenge to get the work up and then another week to two weeks after that that the decision will be made to give us time to finish reading and discuss who we think should win.
The winner will get the usual, but because we judge as a group the grand prize will be that we all become fans and comment on one complete piece of work outside their contest entry. Second place will get us becoming a fan but a comment on only one part of a piece of work (like one chapter or something of the like) Third place gets one of us as a fan and one comment on one work (it'll be me, I'm hosting it I'll take the bullet)
The specifics I'll list when the challenge is posted or when you agree to become the judge.
Now what does this have to do with what's coming next for me?
Well the next piece I have in mind runs along the same lines of what I'll be requiring in the challenge, I'll post it after the deadline, but I wanted to see what everyone else comes up with. (And I encourage those of you who offer to be judges to do the same)
Confused yet? Don't worry, it'll make sense when the challenge goes up.
And if I'm on my own with this then that's cool too, I just wanted to do things a little differently, but I'm going to host it one way or another.
Just let me know...
And as always, just thanks for being such awesome fans, you guys have no idea how much I appreciate you
All the hugs in the world,
