Into the arms of love I came alive.
With eyes that reflected only trust.
Promises of undying passion, entwined as one.
Blinded by the mask you wore, deceit lurking in the shadows.
Feasting upon my trust, incessant and unwavering.
The obscure web you weaved, I would not see through.
Ensnared in a cocoon.
Alone I lay.
The force gone, torn away without forewarning.
Pleading an answer...why?
Tormented by reflections.
Confused, in desperate thoughts I stray.
Drawing close again to me, your soulless eyes stare deep in mine.
They unveil only darkness.
Shards of my shattered heart, scattered upon the floor.
Sweeping in with wicked schemes, taunting my very soul.
Searching for my inner strength, battling your allure.
Like a nightmare from which I can't awake.
The darkness that was my fate.
