My breath come out ragged, a rhythm so clear

My hands have gone shaky, my face wet with tears

Who am I? Your little girl

And was I your sweetheart?

Please say that you love me

I need your assurance

***

My beginnings so calm, I thought I'd felt safe

To be carried in your arms, there's nowhere else I'd want to stay

But now that caress feels so half-meant to me

Would you mind telling me what caused this unease?

***

I sit on the bathroom floor shivering hard

Your voice in my head taunts me, "You've been a bad child"

A blade in my hand, a decision to be made

Would you miss me if I do this?

If I go on to another place?

***

I call you, you don't answer

Who am I? A ghost?

Just lingering and praying

for attention, I suppose?

***

My future comes uncertain

I don't know what to do

I suppose I little help wouldn't be too much from you

***

The metal tears my skin

I fight back a scream

My tears mix with blood

I can almost laugh in my pain

***

I wish you would see me

Let me see what you'll do

I wouldn't care if you'd leave me

I always know that you would

***

Let me tell you that I love you, I really really do

But the pain has cut too deep, to severe to subdue

I just wish you had known me, like I've always wanted you to

So long and adieu, I would really miss you
