Bottled Up Love

I want to tell you something I couldn’t awhile back.

Every day, I wanted to tell you but I was scared.

Days passed, then weeks, months, and years.

Now, what I have to say is for your ears only.

No one else in the entire universe would ever hear these words be spoken out of me mouth.

All these years I wanted to tell you that I love you…

Ever since the day we promised to only be friends

I lied to you about my true feelings.

My heart disguised itself as a striking cobra.

Striking with fangs filled with venom.

A firewall that blocks out viruses.

But only you would I let that cobra sleep.

You helped me smile again.

Things like that,

I don’t pretend that they never happen,

I just pretend to forget

So every time when you bring up something that we did,

I ask you to remind me what had happen

And what we had said

To one another.

But true fully

I remember every single detail,

I just wanted to here how you saw it;

So I can see it though your eyes.

I watched as your face lit up

And your mouth moved as

You were telling me about the time we went to the fair.

Your voice and words

Repainted the whole scene in front of me.

Every image bringing me joy

As you even describe how I was scared

And you held me willingly.

Then you turned and looked at me

With a weird look in your eyes.

A look I never seen before.

As we stared at one another,

A filling build inside me.

I couldn’t hold it anymore:

“I love you,” we both say at the same time.

I was shocked.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you,

But I thought that we change if I said something,”

You said reaching for my hand to hold.

It felt perfect in mine.

“Yes, something has changed:

How much ever more I do care,

Respect,

Value,

And most of all,

Love you,” I said.

And when you kissed me softly on the lips,

I knew down the road, years from now,

I’ll ask you to remind me about the beginning of us.
