a descriptive piece about the beach.

The Sun and the Sea

The sun and the sea,

oh what a blissful place to be.

The waves gently crashing over the sand,

making a bubbly connection with the land.

The sea is like a child,

playful and alert.

Its busy every minute of the day,

splashing and frolicking away.

As the sun begins to set,

then the tide may get bigger or smaller.

if the tide is smaller,

then it is getting tired.

How i love the beach,

the fresh salty air.

The cool breeze and the soft sand,

a wonderful place to be.

The child metaphor for ocean was a bit new. Expressing small Tide as being tired is also very rare.

The feeling I got was how a 8-14 years old kids going to their summer holiday to the beach. The child just dont want to leave the beach and go home....

Is that what you had in mind when you write this poem?

That was Great! I used to live on in Island Belize and my family would always be down at the beach. The description you gave would be more for Cancun Mexico. Beautiful Place. Traviling places helps your ability to be discriptive. Great job!!

another wonderful poem. i too love the beach, having grown up close to it. but i love the beach in the rain. there is nothing like the crashing of the waves on the beach with the rain battering your body. i come from a colder place than you, lol.
