I see him standing there
In the shadows
Always lurking in the darkest corners
But never seeing, who he is…
Why can’t I see his face?
Why does he hide from me?
And why do I feel terrified when he’s around
Should I be scared?
My blood pumps deeper and darker
As I feel his hands reaching for me
His icy fingers, gripping my heart
Squeezing tightly, till the pain almost makes me faint
He release his grip on me
And I hear him whisper as he returns to the shadows
“One day I will be in control…”

You never know what will be in the dark waiting to grab you!
Awesome! Aren't we all dreading that moment when we completely lose control?

Don't we all fear the things lurking in the shadows. Good poem, it works well on different levels.
