Poem by: synesthesia

Summary

not many people will understand this, but it expresses my feelings of abandoning my child self, alone and waiting for a prince who never came, and I don't care

She sat by the window

Alone.

Waiting.

I don’t know why

In my mind’s eye

Every fairy tale comes real

And these shattered dreams I feel

Will be gone.

They talked of him

He never came

He won’t come for me

I turn my heart away

She came for me

Not him

And it is her I believe in now

She is my princess

My last vision, my last breathe

My fairy tale

She sat by the window

In defiance to the world

Leaving her childhood behind

I am free.
