Final rest

As you lay your head down for your final rest,

You hope you have done your best.

You lay back and close your eyes,

In fear of the darkness you reopen them for the last time.

You see your life flash in front of you; you see the times you have forgotten,

And the days that will never come true.

You feel the never ending chill run up your spine,

As the pavement around you, starts to cry.

What has started as a normal day, has become your final day.

You strive for the untouchable words that will never come.

You close your eyes and prepare for your final judgment.

You are standing between the dark and the light.

The smell of burning and of fresh air greats you.

Your path has been chosen.
