Like a cheetah at suppertime, Faith ran and ran.  She jumped over fallen branches, mud, horse maneuver, and things she was unsure of.  He was somewhere behind her, she knew it, but she had to get away.

“You can run Faith, but you can’t hide,” Kurt yelled.

She could see the road through the trees of the park.  She ran to the side of the road and waved down the first on-coming car she saw.  The man in the car slowly stopped and she ran to the passenger’s side.

“Thank you.”

“No problem. Where do you want me to take you?”

“Anywhere, just step on it.”

He took off and drove as fast as the speed limit allowed him.

“Can you drive any faster?”

“It’s a 60 mph here.  You’re running from someone; I can tell from the look on your face.”

“There are crazy people out there; you have no idea.”

“Living in the United States in the twenty-first century, trust me I have an idea.”

They were silent for a while.

“I have been driving for some times now, are you going to tell me where we are going?”

Faith took a breath, undid her seatbelt and said “Stop the car.”

He pulled the car over to the side of the road and looked at her.

“You were so nice to me.  Please forgive me for this.”

Right as she said that she pushed his head into the stirring wheel and snapped it like a twig.  She dragged the body out of the car and put it in the trunk.  She got back in the driver’s seat and drove.

Faith recognized the road after a while; there was a river at the end of it.  It was now well after midnight.

She dumped the body into the river.  She figured the police and Kurt would figure it out soon, but when they did she would be gone.  She drove and drove until she got to the state line and Kurt, who was an FBI agent, was waiting with the cops.  The jig was up, she was busted.
