Depression will lie

It sneaks into your pores

and all of the time

it will trick you

Telling you things that you used to know were not true,

but now have begun to believe

It can make you want to scream

It makes you feel out of control

and

it tells you

that you

never have

and never will

be happy

It drains you

and makes you feel like a marionette

as it pulls

on the strings of your heart

So what can you do,

besides be unhappy?

Do not let the little voice inside you say, "No one loves you,"

because it's not true

Sit in a room full of people

Ask them things that they like about you

You'll be suprised to learn

that there is more to you

than your own opinion of yourself

Look within yourself

Bring out your inner light and your inner child

You have to bridge the gap

between sadness

and the other side

What lies there

is a mystery

But one thing's for sure;

it's better than where you are right now

Bridging the gap

can be difficult

Part of the bridge is built

by you

wanting to be in a better place

But part of it

is built with love

Love is true,

not fake

Love is something that is inside you

It burns with an undying passion,

even moreso than depression.

It's hard

and the effort

may seem hopeless

but in the end

it's worth it

You are

what you make of yourself

and that

is what makes

the true you
