THE WITCH

"Good morning students", said Miss Naina in a melodious voice. She was Library teacher. "Good morning miss", said the students of class VIII excitedly.
They chose their books and sat quietly to read. Parnella and Pansy sat down with a book titled 'The Witch'. They started discussing.
"Pansy, do witches really exist", Parnella asked. "Ummm…. I am not very sure but they might not", said Pansy. "Anyways lets finish this book", said Parnella.
At the end of the book there was a note on witches. It said it was true, that witches exist. And do you know who was the author of the book the famous Roald Dahl.
Now this made Parnella confirmed about the existence of a witch. The book said that a real witch had many characteristic some of them being baldness, blue tongue, a smiling and kind looking face, and many other things.
These left such a mark on Parnella and Pansy's mind that they began matching all these characteristics with their teachers for the book said 'it might be your teacher'. Unfortunately they found one. She was Mrs. Sahay, their chemistry teacher. On seeing her hair they began to feel as if she wore a wig. They began finding her kind face mysterious and suspected her tongue and teeth to be blue. They decided to spy her. So the very next day, in the evening, they went to the Mrs. Sahay's house and peeped through her window .They sawher doing something with her chair. Actually she was going to comb her hair and was oilingit to make it smooth and shining. "Look! Now she will remove her hair …I mean the wig… (Giggles) just imagine how she would look without hair". To their great surprise she just combed and tied her hair.

"Never mind!", said Parnella. "I am sure we are going to find some clue… I am sure she is a witch". Next they saw her taking out an old-fashioned fountain pen. (Remember an old-fashioned fountain pen means a pen that is dipped into an inkpot and then used).
"See, she is using an old fashioned fountain pen. Remember the book said that all the witches use an old fashioned fountain pen. I am sure she is going to use her split…I mean her blue split as ink." Said Pancy excitedly. But to their great surprise Mrs. Sahay took out an inkpot and dipped her pen and started writing. "O god! She is too clever. She knows someone is watching her." Said Parnella worrying. Just then an unfortunate thing happened. Mrs. Sahay stood up, turned around and saw the girls who were busy spying her. The girls turned pale. Mrs. Sahay called them inside .

"So, what were you both doing outside my house, spying, I think", said Mrs. Sahay angrily.

"No... not at all… Madam… why… should we spy on you?" answered Pansy trying to be calm and quiet.

"So, what were you doing then?"

"Nothing madam…no… thing" answered Pansy firmly. While Pansy was busy satisfying her teacher, Parnella was thinking about something else. At last when Mrs. Sahay asked the reason from her. She answered…rather asked " mam do you were a wig"
"What?!?" asked Mrs. Sahay angrily and surprised at the same time.
"Mam, why do you use an old fashioned fountain pen instead of all new pens available in the market"
"What do you mean by this. Now this proves that you were spying and that you are telling lies pansy" Mrs. Sahay looked crossed.
"Mam please answer me," Parnella asked as if under spell.
"I don't know why you were spying but I will surely satisfy you Parnella. I don't wear a wig and I use an old fashioned fountain pen because it was gifted by my old fashioned father whom I love and so by using this pen I remember all golden moments that I spent with him. I think this is enough to satisfy you. And now for your punishment you have to write 100 times your chemistry equations and submit it on Monday."
"But mam" pansy tried to argue.
"200 times" Mrs. Sahay angrily replied.
"Thank you mam…" said pansy and dragged Parnella out.
" …And thank you too my friend. Because of you we are going to spend our weekenddoing chemistry equations" pansy said to Parnella angrily
"But Pan don't you think she acted really 'witchish' by giving such harsh punishment. I still believe Mrs. Sahay to be a witch. In fact I am sure of it." Parnella said.
"Oh please! Have mercy on me my dear friend. She did what a human should do and I really believe she is a woman .now I am going home. I have to write 200 chemistry equation. So goodbye and best of luck". Pansy said and ran back to her house.

MEANWHILE IN MRS.SAHAY'S HOUSE
MRS. SAHAY went before the mirror, removed her wig with a cruel smile and said "children are getting smarter now. I have to find out how those two came to know about me. Perhaps chemistry equations will act as a brain wash for them.
