the graying sky did nothing to hide the fact
that the silvery moon hung like a glowing
metallic presence in the sky.
with eyes that shined with unnatural beauty
he stared up at its light as it filtered through the haze.
bloodened tears slid down his pale skin
and he longed, longed for the past
longed for the future, that wasn’t his to
have.
with a long mournful howl he ran off under
the moon light.
never to know how once he was loved
loved and then lost.
