History

Upon my pillow I lay my head,
thinking of you,
Wishing you were here, in my bed
I close my eyes, and your face I see,
With your green, green eyes,
smiling back at me
My fingers caress your silken hair,
Pulling  you close,
I say how much I care

I open my eyes with a start.
seeing only darkness,
feeling a pain in my heart
It was just a dream, a memory,
our love is forever gone,
history
