Just Letting You Know...
Kings island, the mall, Gameworks, and Marcus,
These are all the places you take us.
You work so hard, spending penny and dime
But what we want most from you is your time
We’re loved, we’re spoiled, you keep us well fed
You work so hard to keep a roof over our heads
When we think we can’t, you tell us we can
You take us everywhere, in your old, beat-up van
You’ve made us laugh, and scared out of our minds
But then made us realize everything was just fine
Twice, maybe three times a week we go out
You love us a lot, I don’t have a doubt
I think to myself, how terribly sad
There are kids without such a dad
A dad to be there when needed most
A dad that any would be happy to toast.
But I will say this, dad, you got screwed in one way,
Your birthday is so close to fathers day
So one present you get, for fate has decided
But I think this present will make you delighted
In this poem I have put my heart and soul
And I hope that this poem is playing its role
In letting you know I love you a lot
I’m glad that you are the dad that I got.
