Society can take you, lift you up then break you.
It then leaves you seeking comfort from the misfits and strangers you used to belong too, before society and fame fooled you with it’s glittering lights

Through the dark cloak
I break out
All the colors
Are too vivid
Painful
Burning my eyes

Keys tap
On the keyboard
In the returning room
Skeleton fingers
With no thoughts

A bodiless hand
Strokes my foot
From under the confides
Of the bed
It is oddly comforting
Knowing I am no-longer
Alone
It’s the beast and me
Misfits
Un-keeping with societies
Dreams
For now

Don’t jump through the
Hoop
To madness
(I did)
To the wacky ringmaster
Leader of that show
You’ll sell yourself
To the circus
Where you’ll be
Empty
Mindless
Without any hopes
Or dreams

The lonely hand
Strokes my foot
A gentle comfort
Though arisen from the deep
Soft thumbing of fingers
Says without words
It’s okay

The creature
Shows now face
Though inside itself
I know it’s golden

I’m having an affair with society
Flashing lights and
Media
Though just with my soul
Stumbling on the high ropes
In the ringmasters
Insane circus show
My outer layer
Stays faithful however
If that makes a difference

The hand be it dismembered
Or full
Is no judge
Only comfort
It touches the delicate skin
Of my foot
The part that is not corrupted
While all else
Burns on TV rays
Like hot chili
Fire

The fledglings
Black sewn up mouths
Silent
In awe
Though they are handsey
Are ripping me apart
Pitchfork claws
Dismembering my membrane
Out pores
Jellybeans
Red raw flesh of
Watermelon
The big and the small
Things
The ringmaster
Holds the stop sign
On the mutant circus show
Takes time to pick up the pieces
Of my puzzle
The lone hand
Still stroking
Though the foot hangs
Slightly limp
Over saturated
By flickering bulbs
Though it is aware
That the cold tap
Has been ran
Empty
Over the foot
The faceless creature
One of skin, dust
Old hair
Is educated in no more
So it still stokes the foot
Though the cave
Is unaware

The Ringmaster
Takes me to the jewel chamber
Where my pop star eyes
Twinkle with greed
Though I’m unaware
That this is were he will end me
Ripped, lathered holes
In my stockings
With every cruel word he speaks
The spring-loaded paparazzi
Paws down
Yet again
With bad words
Though they are
Hyenas eating
Road kill
I’m over
I’m done
The media darling is dead
I’m just another reek
Inside the carnivorous system
Another one hit wonder
Now I’m really gone

The creepy hand
Under the bed
Caress’s the foot
Now limp as neglected
Facelifts
The hand
Sees none
Speaks none
Knows none
So it continues its caress
The only comfort
It knows
