When she wept
There was blood
Of old
That he licked away
So delicately

She was a corkboard
Of notices that said
"Beware “,"Walk away"
She never kissed any creature
Her gift was left unwrapped
Unopened
She was buttoned high up
Skirt long past her knees
Ugly she labelled herself
Unwanted, Unloved

When she wept
There was blood
That he licked away
As she lay on her back
In the forest glen
With a drugged look upon
Her face

He was the Goth king
Dark and pale
That lived in the forest
The birds his mentors
Taught him things
For humankind were bottles of apathy
They cared not for their own
Like the feathered ones

He wrapped her in a bundle
Made of flax and leaves
Made her a nest
For she was his chick
Vulnerable to the world

Drugs she took
To fill up the space
So she would fell happy
In another land
With ponies and her fantasy boyfriend

She desired so much
Though she wouldn’t let anyone she
For she was ugly
No one would touch her
Love her
Was her thoughts
They fire their finger guns and
Stare

The Goth prince
Endured their torture
They never let him be
For the thing inside him said
He must break free
So he tore of normal
Threw on cloak of weird
Himself he is now
No-longer restrained

She is his accomplice now
They fight side by side
Bears and beasts
Of the forest
With spears and bows
He licked the blood away
Along with her old life
She is free now
From feeling ugly
For trees take in everybody
Under their leaves
