How would you react if I showed you the real me,
If you knew my deepest thoughts and concerns,
Would you still stand with me in my journey to a better life,
Would you be there with tears in your eyes,
Asking yourself how you didn’t see this before,
Would you view it with a clear mind, and try to see it through my eyes?

All the memories, all the pain…
If I lowered all the bars and barriers,
Would you think it was real,
If I played all my memories out of my head,
Would you stay and still be there the next day,
Would you mistake it as fictional?

Would you still look at me the same way,
Would our friendship last,
Would I suddenly become the monster to you that I am in my eyes,
Would our love stay strong,
Would you understand,
Or would you brush yourself off and walk away?

What would I find in your eyes,
Please, no pitty or sadness,
If I showed you my whole world,
Would you nod in understanding,
Would you shudder with dread,
Or would it just be comedy to you, the way my head spins.

IF only you knew everything,
Then you would know my story,
But I don’t think I have the strength to pass it on,
My courage isn’t built up yet,
And my dynasty isn’t ready to fall,
So for now, I’m just a mystery.
