Captive Crowding

They come and they go with varying regularity

Making strange noises, as if mocking my sanity

Sometimes, I walk up and down

Trying to display my best frown

On other occasions I may give a roar

This seems to make their blood pressure soar

I am not alone but we all feel secluded

If they think different, they are truly deluded

We get food and water without fright or fight

But yearn we do for that old sight

To be in the wild, to hunt and be free

With danger and duty, we would pay any fee

Instead we have concrete, fences and faceless foes

These are the things, that make our daily woes
