The Power of Silence

Not a noise could be heard as they prepared to start

A look to the left and then to the right

In perfect harmony and with minimum fuss

A silent explosion is unleashed upon us

With speed and precision they cover the ground

All of this without making a sound

There, around and back but without any rush

But all done with the crescendo of a hush

Hands, feet, elbows and knees

All used to varying degrees

The dispatching of imaginary foes

Is completed with deadly blows

Resistance is futile to this almighty white

Like trying to stop dark after daylight

The power is there for all to see

Like the big waves of the deep blue sea

No tension, no emotion but the intensity burns

And then, all of a sudden, stillness returns
