Two Moments, Eternally Linked

The first moment, a mother welcomes her new born baby

With great love and emotion

She gazes at this miracle that she has produced

Joy is over whelming and tears flow uncontrollably

Pain is already a distant memory, mother and child scream in unison

The living, breathing child is a miracle come true

The second moment, a child let's go of their mother

Emotion and love entangled in a frenzy

Quiet peace surrounds this moment

A lifetime of love is about to take another turn

Tears well in the child, the heart is heavy

But joy remains at the end of any suffering

A gentle touch, a kiss on the forehead

Dignity retained between child and mother

Forever together, eternally by two moments.
