Summary

Justice can often be found on the chess board; not always, of course, but for the most part.

On dew-drop days we do not slumber.
Rather, we tug and gleam
this chessboard strategy;
endurable, indefatigable, tactical
seminar, pawn to king four,
knight to king bishop three.
On this docket drama
studies kings and queens,
transcends our isolated universe
assessing variation, themes.
We war in peace,
discovery checks our forts.
Our function wisps of insight,
pawn bivouacs at five, shouldering the knight.
Who, then, judges us in castle-courts,
who seals the verdict, passing on our fate?
In freedom will the pawns march on,
this noble game delivers justice, mate.
