I am a religious person. I was introduced to religion at a young age so I was raised around it but I have not fully embraced religion either. I believe there is something bigger . When I observe others and how they act toward people I am still torn to see that there are a few really decent people left. I find; however, that for the majority we are surrounded by careless, selfish and hypocritical people. It irritates me to no end because it seems that people blame their actions on religion or anything else but themselves. I wrote this because this is how I perceive those close to me.

What makes what people believe wrong or right

Recently faith seems like a fad that people choose to follow

Something that everybody get's involved in

With a rule book people suggest we take to heart

One that others conveniently ignore when it benefits them

Only to throw those same rules back at another who has blasphemed

No matter the severity, sins seem to be something people lord over others

Instead of forgiving, forgetting and moving on

Religion seems to be all the wrong things practiced at once by the majority

I am no saint, I keep the faith and love God

But lately it seems the faith I used to know has not only been tested

but changed.

What the hell is religion
