He sat in shock as tears filled his eyes from the pain of the deep and fresh wound of betrayal. He looked around the oval office and thought maybe it is better to sit back and watch the world burn.

He walked over to the DEFCON panel that was hidden beneath his desk until a moment ago. A klaxon sounded somewhere as the EM barrier went up in aniticipation of the first strike. He smiled like a madman with nothing to lose as the nukes shadowed the White House lawn; briefly he wondered if he would survive the inital impact.

He might live long enough to endure the nuclear fallout. He laughed at the thought.

By the next moment he no longer cared.

"What a dishonorable world we live in..." the president said as he pushed the red button.
