Sitting in the iron and tarnished cell, I weep. Will I remain in this dire and tiresome state of mind perhaps without end? Or at least until they kill me. I needed Jake. He held my heart very intimately and close to his own. We were one soul in flawless harmony.  The blood that races through our veins flowed with precisely the same momentum. Yes, we are one. Or were. Shall I explain?

On my way home from school one day I was kidnapped. Two men beat me furiously and repetitively what seemed like hours. They positioned me within some random cell in their basement and starved me.  Only twice a week I would eat. That’s how I would keep the time. If my math were correct, I have been locked in this god forsaken hole for three months. What did they desire with me?  Every day It was equivalent; I was beaten. Is all they wanted me to be was a punching bag? Anyway, it was the same thing everyday…until Jake came. Jake was my kidnapper’s little brother.  He had come to my petite “home” to deliver me my first meal of the week. He looked my age, fifth teen, so I mustered up enough nerve to talk to him.  Before anyone would have guessed, we fell in love. He would slip me food and minute luxuries.  More importantly, he gave company. A companion at last!  He actually persuaded my kidnapper to allow me outside for fifth teen minutes a day, given the supervision from Jake of course.  He was beautiful, and I was not, but he made me feel gorgeous.  That’s what mattered.

The beatings stopped for awhile, but when they came back Jake got livid. He begged his brother to let me free. Of course, he said no. After on beating, which ended in me being a gory pulp, Jake determined enough is enough.

He tried to sneak me out, but was unbearably caught by his brother. He chained me to a pipe running along the floor and gruesomely murdered Jake, forcing me to watch. Tears rolled down my face and his brother just kept turning Jake into a unrecognizable piece of meat. Everything gets taken away from me. First my family, my freedom, my privacy, and now my lover. My best friend. My soul mate. After he unchained me I lashed out and ferociously attack him.

What I learned? Nothing. How could I possibly have learned anything from the disturbing pandemonium I’ve been through for the past six months? The good news is my kidnapper stopped beating me. The bad news is he established a new exciting way to torture me. He locked me in a box so diminutive, only a person and possibly a child could fit into. Inside the box with me is Jake’s rotting body.
