This is a poem about modern conflict and agression, and how in modern days, this is sullied, and dreams of honour and glory melt away...

Cries screaming
Warriors roaring
Swords fighting
Arrows soaring

Parrying, blocking
Charging with haste
Slashing and stabbing
No time to waste

Crying high
For freedoms sake
Thrusting my sword
Bones did I break

Anger and arrogance
My sword shines red
Blocking and slashing
Off goes his head

As I crush another
An arrow in my thigh
It’s all too apparent
That I’m going to die

But no, I do stand
I slash out in anger
Blood spills and puddles
My enemies stagger

I flash to now
Where battles face changes
No honour or glory
Shot down at ranges

The difference in war
In modern battle is treason
You die like a dog
For no good reason

Well written. Good use of rhyming.

Imagery graphic and vivid. Dramatic action.

Happy trails,

Ed Bradley.

Well war is falling, I don't want to see mass death, but swords and honor beats some dictator surrounded by weapons keeping his concience clean.
