The Definition of a Sage

(Lovingly Dedicated To Sir SP Terfa Moses Yisa)

If walls could talk, they would’ve sang

Your wisdom so aptly distilled enough to hang

Pessimists’ caricatures of iconoclasts as you lead

While others follow – kowtowing as they plead

To fetch your wisdom and quench

Their undying ignorance and stench

In the guise of gimleted marbles filled

To the brim and stretched to endless gilled

The words you weave stimulate sanity

Out of the vast vault buried in insanity

Restlessly restless and truncated by deep

Wounds of ignorance drink from the deep

Pool of your flowing wisdom pontificated

By your every word as you speak, certificated

Through depth of humility well paid

And demonstrated in every tot ever said

In you we’ve learnt that tethered tunes

Are faithless groan of ignorance that dunes

And fetters in fart locoed silence and emit

Excuses wheel-therefore and steel-Hereford in remit

Each time cobwebs pace unto my adulation

And my thoughts ambushed by obfuscation,

My fraternal embrace of your wisdom

Beckons to me as you sing songs in fiefdom

And the easiness with which wise words

Walk into my heart confirms the swords

Of knowledge your hands hold

So priceless compared not even to gold.

Light Bearer

On muddy path he had trod

Bare foot along thorny path way

In pain, he stretched knowledge’s ode

Looking never back or sideways.

He climbed the harsh accents

Up the thorny hill side

Bruised and teary in quintessence

Up height light abide

Reaching out to selflessly support

The tiring and the hankering weak;

For each an encouraging thought

To obtain the light that men seek.
