Mad grief makes for wild acts, that which confessing cannot overpass
It never can reverse, this sorrow that thrives where bloody hearts shed innocent lives
These souls that scream about the night, haunting dream with false of sight

Life is such a fragile thing, this bittersweet, enduring legacy
A shallow breeze, the breath of thee, keeps this world so painfully free
But the same time blind this world remains, hiding hearts with fogs of shame

I defy the Lord as He leaves me straggling with this debris
Hanging forth from solid fear, never letting courage near
This life I live, this blade I draw, I owe it all to grace's fall

Differences I now defy, these spirits fall where death will lie
Confusing fate, disturbing peace, no occasion to decease
It chides me, humiliates that I hold dear, making vision no less clear

This heavy darkness suffocates, dissolving all that come to wait
For the holy sun to rise so near, with little proof of much to fear
I strive to make this distance known, these desperate seeds the Lord hath sown

Evil brings all light to flee, the temperance that lies with thee
The devil comes to steal it all, his demons coming out to maul
This sanity, it leaks away without a trace, ignoring all that long its power

For them does freedom never flower, this deadly bloom that stalks the night
Needles tearing crimson bright, silver chains that black to lead
Scraps of love that haunt the dead, coming forth from ragged hearts

I breathe, I desire, I place one foot within the fire
Thus with steps I take away, all the sins I've caused this day
Let love deny what little gives, in a heart so bruised, yet still must live
