Watching you for so long

Writing all these terrible songs

Holding the big black rose

above my head, but no one knows

Waiting for you to come and say

I've been thinking about you all day

But my big black rose, that looms over my head

Makes me cower in fear instead

Jealousy fills

And awfuls words spill

Not meaning to say or do

but wanting to say that I love you

The big black rose, slowly decaying

Is in my heart, softly laying

On a bed of regret, fear, and woe

Not ever letting my true colors show

My rainbow of guilt, lovely shades of black

Grays and whites, filled with cracks

My big black rose, who turns a gallant red

Teases me and shrivels black instead

The dead rose petals

and the ugly stem of metal

My weakness fills me with doubt

The songs I should sing about
