What is a hero?
He looks up and asks me
Is it an actor, a singer,
Or maybe an athlete?

I tell him, yes sometimes
A hero is a star
From screen or sports
With fame & fancy cars

I tell him, yes sometimes
Some people believe
A hero is a hero
Just cuz they've been on tv

I ask him
Who's a hero to you?
He says,
Police, Firemen, Teachers, Doctors,
Nurses too

I say,
Real heroes are the givers not the takers
And he says, yes, then we can not forget
All of the Balloon Makers!

With that I know, my little sage...
Being Eight must be great and
What a beautiful age...
