He was slowly walking alone the crowded streets of the city with his cold hands in his pocket trying to keep them warm. With his headphones on, he was listening to sad love songs only thinking about HER. She was the only thing that he could think about. Night and day, She was always on his mind. Everything he did, he thought about her pretty face, about her amazing perfume, about her lips. Oh, those beautiful lips he often dreamt about kissing. He just imagined their sweet taste and softness. But he could only imagine, because She could never be his. She was the love of his life. If she only knew.

He was her best friend, but to him, she was everything he ever wanted. Since they were kids, they used to spend almost every day together and Jason fell in love with her somewhere on the way. He wasn’t sure when. Maybe when she used to throw cake at him at her birthday parties when they were little, maybe it happened when they grew up a little and started going to school together, maybe when she had her headphones on and started singing his favorite song. He didn’t know exactly when he fell for her, but he definitely did. Only the thought of spending another day with her knowing that she wasn’t his was unbearable. But he had to see her to get through the day. The long way back from school was always the time when he meditated and thought about her and only her. He imagined scenarios where he would tell her he loved her and they would be happy forever but he just couldn’t. She was in love with someone else and it broke his heart when she told him. The next day at school he would have to go through hell again while she was holding hands with her boyfriend. Watching them caused him more pain than a stake through his heart, but he had to pretend he didn’t care. He didn’t want her to push him away if she found out the way she felt about her. He was glad that he could love her from distance. But the hardest part was when they were alone. He couldn’t help but staring at her beautiful face and he just wanted to hold her in his arms. He just kept a straight face and talked like nothing was going on. He loved everything about her. The way her nose crinkled when she laughed, the way she smelled, everything. And when she hugged him before she left, he felt that he could stay that way forever. Her smile was the perfect thing to see on a bad day, her soft hair was the greatest thing to touch, and talking to her was the perfect antidote for a sad person. She was amazing and everything she did was incredible. The way he loved her was hard to express because a love this strong had never existed. She was his soul mate, the reason he lived. If he had only felt the warmth within her touch, If he had only felt those soft lips against his. If only she knew the way he irrevocably fell in love with her. If only she cared…
