My world is a dark room.

Cold and vast as an ocean,

In whose depths I will drown.

A break in the waves of my

Soul serves to let some hope in.

Not much, but enough. With it

A small beam of light, pure and

Good, cuttingthrough the emptiness.

I know, in some forgotten corner

Of my being, I need the radiance.

My arms reach out to the glow

To leave behind the rising waters

That my own mind has created.

But I can no longer remember

How to swim.
