You were my one true love

I loved you like no one else

You with your glamour gloves

You weren’t like the rest

You had all the love in my heart

all you had to do was open your mouth

Then the heart flutters would start

My love never headed south

You ended up cheating yourself

By living the wild life

I loved you like no one else

I wanted to make you my wife

Our affair ended too short

For your life took you over

And you were forced to abort

Your life before you had a lover

When you sang the first notes

My heart and ears began to melt

All those lovely songs about that bloke

Left me to play with the cards I was dealt

Cards that seemed to laugh at me

For again I was all alone again

But your voice was so lovely

Enriched with tremendous pain

But you left me and this world

Fly away my love be happy

For you were my girl

And I don’t want to get too sappy.
