A madman rambles in detail of a place that no longer is, although everyone else would tell you it never was.

Disregard my words insane
As others do the same.
But if you allow, I'll share
A place of silent despair:
The bleak, the sky-less,
Corpse Land of Mor'arx.

Imagine, now, a paradise
And people absent of vice.
Cities gold and fields plenty;
Praised by nations many.
They ate and they sang;
Loved was rich Mor'arx!

They reveled in bright abodes
Yet forgot of ancient oaths;
A bleak, grisly sacrifice
Every solstice to suffice
The strange, the horrid,
True lord of Mor'arx.

The sky warped to strangest night
As the sun fled, pale with fright.
Their prayers begged It abstain;
As amends, thousands slain;
Yet they were too late
To save doomed Mor'arx.

Next I witnessed ghastly scenes
Of blood, bodies and screams.
One moment, cries like sirens
Followed by eerie silence.
No life could be found
In empty, dead Mor'arx.

Complacency sealed their fate,
Forsaking price to abate
The Nameless, the Faceless,
Czar-Thing from Far Places;
It's true name forgotten
With Corpse Land, Mor'arx.

This was beautifully done, M. A. Disregard old customs at your peril for you never know what retribution will follow. Excellent description and story-line too!

unmasked delusions

This flows smoothly and I like the calm, eerie mood. Cool idea. Its descriptive yet allows the reader to imagine a lot for themselves. Good work
