Do I ever really give up? I'm not sure I know myself, but time will tell. Not merciful, not ideal, but true. Truer than any loyalty known to man. Time will forget us all, but it will give us a
chance to experience it in ways we will learn from forevermore.

Once,

There was a speck of hope,

Shining at us from the starry sky.
Its glimmering glow pierced the grey of the clouds,
As we stared and glared, it grew brighter than any star.

Our amazement and awe,

Short-lived after all,

As the shining speck, a victim of the wind,

Blew beyond our reach...

All we could do was drift apart,

As if it was destined from the start.

I longed and longed so I searched for the speck,

But it means nothing.
