Bluesy Jazzy Mamma

By D W Phoenix

When mamma began to feel so low

About as low as one could go

That’s when she fell into the arms

Of the blues and all its charms

Mamma made love to them blues

Thought she had nothing left to loose

But them blues left her just the same

That’s how bluesy mamma jazz got her name

Bluesy mamma jazz sing for me

Let me hear those blues one more time

You owe no one nothing

You’ve paid up all your dues

So come on bluesy mamma jazz sing those blues

Come on mamma jazz let me hear that razzmatazz

Come on mamma jazz and sing for me

Mamma turned to jazz to lift her curse

Thinking that she couldn’t feel no worse

She thought that jazz could hide her fears

But every note was filled with tears

Lived her life inside a song

Thinking that’s where she did belong

Every line she sang was filled with pain

That’s how bluesy mamma jazz got her name

Bluesy mamma jazz sing for me

Let me hear those blues one more time

You owe no one nothing

You’ve paid up all your dues

So come on bluesy mamma jazz sing those blues

Come on mamma jazz let me hear that razzmatazz

Come on mamma jazz and sing for me

Now sadly for mamma it’s too late

Passed away gone through heavens gate

I know heaven won’t be the same

When they hear of mammas name

They will raise up that curtain

To hear mamma sing that’s certain

She’ll be singing songs in mammas style

Now that mamma can sing with a smile

Bluesy mamma jazz sing for me

Let me hear those blues one more time

You owe no one nothing

You’ve paid up all your dues

So come on bluesy mamma jazz sing those blues

Come on mamma jazz let me hear that razzmatazz

Come on mamma jazz and sing for me
