The Painting
By D W Phoenix
Let me paint your face upon my dreams
So much beauty there before me
Let me capture all that I see
Let me paint your face upon my dreams
It’s what you are that I love
Not the shell your bodies in
For some types of beauty
Only lays as deep as the skin
Some people don’t feel sexy
Their not happy with their charms
It’s not all about the way you look
But how you make somebody feel in your arms
You make me feel like this is heaven
I feel like I’ve found paradise
Now my heart knows what beauty means
Let me paint your face upon my dreams
Each dream I dream will be my canvass
That I paint your face upon
Life itself becomes my palette
The colours rich and deep to choose from
And the brushes that I need
I will make from strands of time
Each colour comes to life
As I caress each stroke and line
I’ll capture all your beauty
Just the way that it appears
And as I clean each and every brush
In a jar full of all my happy tears
When you see yourself inside my dreams
You’ll get a glimpse of paradise
You’ll come to know what beauty means
Let me paint your face upon my dreams
