Your song draws me homewards

Towards warm embrace

To answer melodious words

I waltz, entranced by the piper

Beneath your sacred fountain

Reminiscence glories past

When greatness was mountain

Our forebears cleaved fast

Not for them this concrete forest

Where scum and grit drip

Not for them choky harvest

That make lungs stop

I long for that essence

That lifts the weary man

I long for that presence

That heals all pain

Atop your hallowed bosom

 I find reasons to smile

Your grass another cushion

Where dreams become real

Birds spread songs and

Valleys loom great

Trees of shrubbery, large and

Small, bluer skies greet

Sorrowed eyes

All things merge, drawing me home

Underneath your shadow

A shade that call to come

To life's meadow

Other sights make for wish

I be stationary, maybe tree

Such to live thousand lives which

Behold your beauty forever free
