I stare, yes

Through broken gaps, seen,

As step dancers

Waltz in measured movements

Enthralled b your presence

Sitting within, but apart

It seem

From this noisy whole

Loud crackles of laughter

Hums likened to bees

Distinct ones touching

Not actually meeting

I try but can’t

Seem to

grasp meanings shouted

In echoic resonance

Might well have been

A serenade to

A deaf mute knight

Riding off to coming night

In this storms midst

Lies you

Calm unto yourself

Refusing to partake in it

When academic screech

Becomes a hurtful din

Inwards you tuned

Finding peace within

I try to imagine

The aura you spread

From without

Making others clam up

In shamed silence
