to the hope we seek and believe in,to the reason we live,to my brother

Eyes cast upwards towards ashen clouds,
Through deeper blue and beyond,
To the inky darkness of heaven gate.
In waitful anticipation do we for reprieve
Longing lustfully for that much needed succor.
Would it come now and would we see it come?
The strength of answers fails us again.

Throbbing pain emanates off our kneeling knee.
In loud shriek of protest do our bones bark,
Reminding us of the fragile flesh we are.
To give up seems a more easier option,
For death is said to rest all turmoil.

On, for dear one's sakes do continue,
Retracing paths not long before taken,
Seeking for that little detail overlooked.
Hoping to make it work for dear one's sakes.
Bragging about brawns and brains daily,
As the bearer of tidings good draws forth,
Our weather beaten face creases in wrinkly smiles.
For the torch of the morrow marks our path
