Frank "Big Frank" Piccolo (1887-1939) was an racketeer who operated in Philadelphia and perhaps was one of the early members of the Philadelphia crime family. Piccolo was born in the year of 1887 in Italy. Piccolo was heavenly involved in the bootlegging rackets and allegedly were also involved in dealing drugs. In 1929, Piccolo was arrested for the murder of Pasquale Livoy and was sentenced to serve his time in Eastern State Penitentiary. In Feb 1939 after serving a little over 8 years, Piccolo was released from prison and soon returned back to Philadelphia. In June 1939 Piccolo was shot to death by a shot-gun blast in South Philadelphia allegedly it was payback for his involvement in the murder of Pasquale Livoy.
