Men have the world as their oyster,

Luck their Lady,

Never, have they, had to look from afar

As their Juliet falls for the wrong Romeo

Hopeless, truly

A bitter dejection, the chest concaves

Foolish heart caught in a vice like grip –

You watch on,

Cretin after cretin guised as mediocre Casanovas

Each pitiful attempt to ‘woo’ an icy knife to the chest

You watch on, frozen, incapable of action

Society dictates as such,

Adding to the Fear of rejection forever present in your mind

And so you watch on,

Imprisoned in Cupid’s cage,

Broken.
