There once was a boy,

who once saw a toy,

in the window of a small toy shop.

He looked at it wide eyed,

and stared at it bright eyed,

and, excitedly, began to hop.

It was a toy train,

albeit, quite plain,

but the boy wanted it ever so much.

So he walked in the store,

which he’d done never before,

looking this way and that and such.

He went to the man,

who owned this small plan,

and asked how much the toy cost.

The man looked at the boy,

then walked to the toy,

and said thirty cents would be lost.

The boy smiled wide,

then reached down inside,

his pocket and pulled out the coins.

He had just enough,

of the shiny bright stuff,

and his hand and the man’s did conjoin.

They shook and they traded,

the young boy was elated,

as he held the train in his hand.

He had bought his first thing,

and the shop’s bell did ring,

as he left to go back to his farmland.
